Podcasting
I have been podcasting since the fall of 2006. I very quickly saw the charm in creating radio-like media that could be published to listeners, however few, at a very low cost.
So I started The Polarbear Podcast, a show all about Sweden and the swedish way of life, that was aimed towards everyone in the world, with in interest in everyhting swedish. I built a fan base that resulted in over 4000 downloads every month, before I put the show on hiatus in the spring of 2009, due to lack of time to produce the show.
I still have over 3 000 listeners every month, just enjoying the back catalog. That’s amazing!
In the fall of 2008 I started Podcast Helsingborg (PcH), which is still active and as vibrant as ever. It’s the total opposite of what the Polarbear Podcast ever was. PcH is aimed towards the local listener in the Helsingborg region and is produced in swedish. The upside is that the show is easier to produce both due to the lack of a language barrier and because the format of the show was very different and much simpler. PcH is a regular talk show that is recorded from start to finnish.
Along the road I have also started a show together with my son which was dropped after ten shows due to lack of interest on his side, and also a professional podcast on the fast food segment, launched together with a magazine I worked for at the time.
